Jambo and Hotep (Peace)! Welcome to Fahodi
Shule Homeschool Cooperative, a village institution. Fahodi
Shule is a village of families, not just a classroom of students. We are fully
aware that parents are the first, and primary, teachers of their children. Each child is an invaluable pillar in the
Afrikan nation and it is the responsibility of the parents to cultivate the
wealth of their genius. Although it is preferable that every parent be able to
educate their own child, we understand that is not always a possibility. We
stand in solidarity, partnering with families to educate our children, building
them up spiritually, emotionally, mentally and academically in a society where
they are devalued on every hand. We
embrace the fullness of the wisdom and culture of our Afrikan Ancestors, it is
central to all that we do. We do not
celebrate/recognize European holidays.
We are African centered. Our starting place in any instruction is Africa
and Her children throughout the Diaspora, just as it is for all of
civilization. Our vision
is for our children (watoto) to become successful life-long learners and
valuable members of the world community.
We seek to provide a program for students that have high expectations and centers around the needs of the community. Building strong, long-lasting, successful relationships in our families, communities, and village institutions is one of our greatest challenges, and a critical part of our nation-building work, healing, repairing and restoring the hearts, minds and spirits of our people, especially our youth. Incorporating the principle of Ujima, working together we will be able to reach both our collective and individual goals. Together we look forward to celebrating the success of every child enrolled at Fahodi Shule. On behalf of our family and staff, we wish you an enriching and productive academic and cultural experience. Ase!
